Sio Beauty Founder Q&A
In one sentence what is SiO Beauty?
SiO is a truly innovative line of medical grade silicone patches that prevent and correct existing wrinkles while you sleep.
Where did the idea come from?
I started SiO because in my 20’s I began noticing wrinkles on my décolleté due to side sleeping. My face still looked young, but my chest made me look much older than I actually was. I became so insecure I even started wearing turtlenecks and scarves in the middle of summer. When I came across medical grade silicone in my doctors office (its been used in scar healing for over 30 years), I knew I had found my magic solution. And that’s when I decided to start the beauty brand that would make women and men feel better about themselves and more confident. It wasn't easy, but after 180 prototypes and a lot of hard work we launched last year.
Tell us about medical grade silicone. How does it really work?
Medical grade silicone has been used for years in the medical field to help flatten scars by normalizing collagen production. When it comes to wrinkles, the patches encourage natural skin repair and collagen creation, while plumping and smoothing our lines and wrinkles. The best part is all of our patches are super comfortable, and truly look and feel like skin.
What's your biggest accomplishment?
My biggest accomplishment is deciding to have a baby on my own at the age of 42. And of course my second baby, SiO Beauty.
Biggest beauty secret?
My BIGGEST beauty secret is wearing sunscreen everyday. It should not be a secret.
Favorite winter cocktail?
My favorite winter cocktail is tequila on the rocks with muddled mint and cucumber.
Biggest guilty pleasure?
Dominos thin crust pizza called the extravaganza. It has everything on it. And I love taking naps as much as I can especially in the winter.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
Most people would be surprised that I had postpartum for a year and a half after having my son. No fun. But a reality for lots of new mothers.
